In case you are not aware of it, ioverlander.com is a mapping website that offer info on camping locations and places to park and van/camper. Anyone can upload info on places they have stayed and write information about it. I have yet to use it in the USA, but it worked amazing when traveling in Costa Rica in a campervan. Great app/website to have when looking for a place to park your camper. Wish more people would get on to share places to park.
Furkot Mapping/Trip Planning
Another site I have used for trip planning is Furkot.com. It a bit harder to use, but great for planning ahead of time. I like it because it allows you to plot multiple stops, the duration of stops, and rearrange them as needed. I have found it very useful when troubleshooting the time frame of a trip and deciding if additional stops are possible and what needs to be eliminated. Most importantly, it's FREE. You can save multiple trips and search for any nearby accommodation/gas/lodging/etc...
